Last updated: July 13, 2026
Welcome to Pi! Your privacy is very important to us. We respect your privacy and are strongly committed to keeping any information we obtain from you secure.
This privacy policy describes Pi’s procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use Pi’s services. Our policy tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
Our policy governs the Pi website (www.app.joinpi.ai) and our mobile applications developed by Pi Exploration, Inc.
By using our products and services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Pi Exploration Inc. is headquartered in San Francisco, California, USA.
Information Collection And Use
Pi collects information about you, including data that may directly or indirectly identify you, if you or other Pi users voluntarily disclose such information to Pi. We acquire this information through various channels, such as when you create or join events, upload photos, or otherwise use the Services.
Account and Profile
We collect account information such as your name, email address, phone number, and username to verify your identity and grant access to our Services. We use one-time verification codes sent by text or email rather than passwords.
Profile information is gathered when you add a profile photo, bio, social media links, or address/location, or when you upload content like event posts and photos, join events, view others’ activities, or engage in other Services.
Your contact information is utilized to reach out to you as necessary, such as responding to support requests and ensuring effective communication.

Location Data Storage:
- Your location (city, region, or coordinates) is stored securely in our database
- We store your location to provide ongoing personalized event recommendations
- You can view, update, or remove your location information anytime in your profile settings

Artificial Intelligence Data
Pi uses AI-powered features, such as AI-assisted event creation and voice-to-text transcription for voice inputs. To provide these features, your prompts and, where applicable, your voice recordings are sent to our AI service provider, OpenAI, solely to generate a response. We do not use your prompts or recordings to train AI models, and we do not retain this data beyond what is needed to provide the feature and to prevent abuse. Pi is not liable for any loss or harm resulting from the use of AI-powered features.
Data Security
The security of your information is important to you and us. We implement strict security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we strive to protect your information to the best of our abilities.
Third-Party Service Providers
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate Pi, solely for the purposes described below. These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes:
- Stripe — processes payments and payouts. Pi does not directly store your credit card or payment details.
- Twilio — delivers text messages (SMS/MMS) and verification codes; processes your phone number and message content solely to complete delivery.
- Firebase (Google) — provides analytics, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and push notifications so we can fix bugs and improve the app.
- Mixpanel — provides product analytics to help us understand how the app is used and improve it.
- OpenAI — powers our AI-assisted features, as described above under Artificial Intelligence Data.
Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for recognizing or responding to DNT signals, Pi does not currently respond differently to browsers with DNT enabled. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-site ad tracking; see Third-Party Service Providers above for the analytics and service providers we do use.
Children’s Privacy
Pi is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete that information.
If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete and remove that information.
Your Choices and Rights
Access and Correction of Personal Information: You have the right to access, correct, or update your personal information. You can do this by accessing your account settings within our platform. You may also:
- Opt out of marketing communications. You may respond “STOP” to any Pi, text message to stop receiving all text messages or emails from Pi.
- Adjust your address book preferences. You can revoke Pi,’s access to your address book by adjusting your device settings.
- Opt out of receiving invitations from past organizers or attendees at your events. Past organizers and attendees may send you invitations to other events via Pi, unless you have opted out of receiving future invitations from them. If you receive an invitation, you may respond “Stop” or “X” to the text message to stop receiving future invitations from that organizer.
Note that because these opt-out mechanisms are specific to the device or browser on which they are exercised, you will need to opt out on every browser and device that you use.
If you have any questions or need any help, please contact us at [email protected]
Data Retention
We will delete your Personal Information when it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or when you request us to do so. Please note that we may be required by law or other legal obligations to retain some of your Personal Information, even after your request for deletion. However, once those requirements are no longer in place, we will promptly delete your Personal Information in accordance with your request. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is treated with the utmost care and respect.
